The System vs. The Work

DrChrono Captures the Charge. Someone Still Has to Chase the Claim.

DrChrono is a multi-specialty ambulatory EHR, practice management, and billing platform with a mobile-first heritage: it grew up on the iPad, and charge capture at the point of care is still one of its defining strengths. The live claims feed then shows every claim’s state, the scrubber flags problems before submission, and billing work can be routed through task queues.

None of that visibility collects a dollar by itself. A charge captured in the exam room still needs review before it becomes a clean claim. A flagged claim in the feed is only useful if someone is assigned to fix it that day. A denial worklist that nobody works is just a well-indexed list of aging AR.

RCM Staff provides trained remote billing staff who work those feeds, queues, and worklists every day inside your existing DrChrono account.

Built by RCM Operators, Not Generic Virtual Assistants

RCM Staff was founded by Kevin Jamito, a healthcare revenue cycle management professional with over 18 years of experience in U.S. medical billing, coding, practice management, and back-office RCM operations.

Our staff are trained on the work itself: reading a denial, knowing which payer rule caused it, and closing the loop. Platform familiarity shortens onboarding, but billing judgment is what moves days in AR. Learn more about RCM Staff.

How We Fit In

Where We Fit Around DrChrono

RCM Staff does not replace DrChrono, your clearinghouse, or your payer portals. We provide the trained people and workflow oversight that keep claims moving through them.

01
Role-based access
Your practice or billing company provisions DrChrono user access under minimum necessary permissions.
02
Trained support assigned
RCM Staff assigns billing and admin support matched to your DrChrono workflow and specialty mix.
03
Daily worklist review
The claims feed, denial worklists, task queues, and AR reports are reviewed daily against agreed priorities.
04
Tasks worked
Charge follow-up, claim corrections, resubmissions, payer follow-up, and posting tasks are worked to client instructions.
05
Escalation to client
Coding, credentialing, contracting, and payer decisions are escalated rather than assumed.
06
Tracking and reporting
Work is documented through task logs, denial notes, and client reporting.
Where It Slips

Common DrChrono Billing Workflow Gaps We Help Cover

These are the patterns we see most often in practices and billing teams running without enough dedicated capacity.

Charges are captured at the visit but never reviewed before submission
The live claims feed shows problems nobody is assigned to fix
Scrubber flags fire on the same errors every week with no upstream fix
Denial worklists grow faster than anyone works them
Task queues get assigned but never fully cleared
ERAs post while underpayments and odd adjustments go unreviewed
AR follow-up competes with front-office work and always loses
Each specialty in the group has payer quirks that nobody owns
Practices that left full-service RCM are short on in-house capacity
Billing companies need coverage across several DrChrono client accounts

DrChrono and EverHealth

DrChrono, EverCommerce, EverHealth: The Name Changed More Than the Work Did

DrChrono was acquired by EverCommerce in 2021 and today operates as DrChrono by EverHealth, inside EverCommerce’s EverHealth division. Most teams still just say DrChrono, and the product itself is still sold and supported under that name.

For billing purposes, none of this changes the daily reality. Charges still need capture follow-up so encounters do not go out unbilled. The scrubber still flags claims that need a human fix. Denials still need to be read by reason code, appealed where warranted, and tracked to resolution. Days in AR still respond to cadence, not branding.

Where the corporate history does matter is documentation. If your SOPs date back several product generations, screen names and workflow steps drift out of date. We document the current workflow as we work it, so the process lives in writing rather than in one biller’s memory.

For Billing Companies

Support for Billing Companies With DrChrono Clients

Because DrChrono spans ambulatory specialties, a DrChrono book of business rarely looks uniform: a podiatry group here, a primary care office there, each with its own payer mix, fee schedules, and denial patterns. The follow-up volume scales with every account added, and staffing it onshore is where the margin goes.

RCM Staff works as added capacity inside your process. We support the billing company’s workflow, access controls, and client instructions without taking over the client relationship.

Documented workflows, task logs, and escalation procedures

FAQ

Common questions about DrChrono billing support.

Is RCM Staff affiliated with DrChrono?
No. RCM Staff is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or certified by DrChrono or EverHealth.
Is DrChrono still called DrChrono?
Yes. DrChrono was acquired by EverCommerce in 2021 and now operates as DrChrono by EverHealth, within EverCommerce's EverHealth division. The platform is still sold and used under the DrChrono name, and the billing work inside it is the same either way.
Does RCM Staff replace DrChrono?
No. DrChrono remains your EHR, practice management, and billing system. RCM Staff provides trained billing and admin staff who work inside the account you already have, under access you control.
Can you work the claims feed and denial worklists in DrChrono?
Yes. Monitoring claim states in the live claims feed, correcting and resubmitting claims, working denials by reason code, documenting outcomes, and escalating what needs a client decision is core day-to-day work for our billing staff.
Can you help with charge capture follow-up?
Yes. Charges captured on mobile at the point of care still need a back-end owner: unbilled appointments, missing charges, and flagged claims all need review before submission. Our staff work that reconciliation daily and escalate coding questions rather than guessing.
We are a multi-specialty group. Can you handle different specialties?
Yes. DrChrono is used across ambulatory specialties, and our staff work each client's documented payer rules, fee schedules, and specialty-specific denial patterns. Where a question is really a coding decision, it is escalated to your coders, or to ours if certified coding support is part of the engagement.
Can you support billing companies managing several DrChrono accounts?
Yes. Billing companies commonly use us as added capacity across client accounts, working under the billing company's own process, access controls, and client instructions.
